US Deputy Secretary of State leaves for China

US Deputy Secretary of State leaves for China

US Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will visit China. According to the US State Department, he will go to China to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on July 25, but the meeting will be held in Tianjin instead of Beijing.

It is reported that the US Deputy Secretary of State will meet with the Chinese Foreign Minister at a time when relations between the world's two largest economies are not improving. Serman is currently touring Asia. She met with the Japanese Minister of Defense and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs only on Wednesday. She will also meet with high-ranking officials from South Korea and Mongolia.

When Thurman went to Asia, China was not on the list. He will now meet with Wang Yi, Semano's second senior national adviser to the State Council. Serman will be the second senior official to visit China since Joe Biden was elected President of the United States. John Kerry also visited China before him. President Biden's special envoy Kerry visited China in April. But his goal is not a political meeting, but a meeting with his Chinese counterparts on climate change issues.

In March last year, senior U.S. and Chinese officials met in Alaska under the leadership of U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Brinken. They met with diplomats Yang Jiechi and Secretary of State Wang Yi who are close to President Xi Jinping. US-China relations have broken down further in the past two weeks. According to reports, Thurman hopes to visit China and meet with senior officials including Wang Yi, but the Chinese side stated that Thurman can only meet other officials of the State Council. Therefore, China was not included in Selman's Asia tour schedule. The US State Department announced that it would negotiate directly with China. “We hope to have high-level discussions with China. During the visit, Thurman will explain the reasonable concerns of the US to Chinese officials. He will also share US views on some of China’s actions,” the State Department said. Countries have made new accusations against China.

China participated in a cyber attack on the mail server software of Microsoft Corporation in the United States. Last year, the United States warned American companies not to do business in China’s Xinjiang province. The investment environment in Hong Kong has been strongly opposed by the United States. The Biden administration follows the China strategy of the previous administration of President Donald Trump. He has never stopped warning China on the South China Sea issue. China's pressure on Taiwan is clear. Don't think about using force. Despite the differences between the two countries on various difficult issues, Thurman’s high-level visit is expected to play a key role in the future dialogue between US President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The G20 Group meeting will be held in October next year. The two presidents will attend, and the two heads of state and government are likely to meet on the sidelines of the same forum.

I Went to School for 18 Years... and Got Pranked by Life!

Hey, I'm Shishir. I'm from Nepal, and now I'm living in Perth, Australia. And here's something I've been thinking about: I spent 18 years of my life going to school. Yeah, 18. I'm 20 now, and honestly? I'm still trying to figure out if it was all... worth it.  It felt like a full-time job. 10 to 4, every day. Backpack stuffed with textbooks, notebooks spilling out, sometimes even an extra bag. Then home, the real work started: homework, test prep, the constant pressure to get better grades. I was convinced that if I worked hard enough, I'd unlock some secret to success. That was the routine until Grade 10. Then came the big decisions: Morning classes or day classes? (Day classes, obviously. Who wants to freeze in the winter?) And then the even bigger ones: Science, commerce, arts, law? What college? I ended up at a pricey college in Kathmandu, because a relative went there. Looking back, I think, "Why didn't I just go somewhere more affordable...
