Last year, Tiktok topped the list of the most downloaded mobile apps in the world.

According to a report released by digital analytics company App Annie ,Tiktok has become the most downloaded app in 2020, overtaking Facebook's apps. Facebook Messenger, which was number one last year, has dropped to number five.

Another interesting thing is that the Chinese video sharing app Tiktak has become the only top five app that is not owned by Facebook. That is, among the top five most downloaded mobile apps in 2020, the other four are Facebook-affiliated apps.

Despite the efforts of then-President Donald Trump to ban it in the United States, Twitter's popularity has not diminished. Last year, Trump issued a new executive order banning ticket downloads in the United States. The Trump administration claimed that the ticket posed a threat to national security in the United States and that the Chinese government had access to its user data. But Tiktak had been denying such allegations.

To avoid possible sanctions in the United States, Tiktok's parent company, ByteDance, had also discussed selling Tiktak's business to Oracle and Walmart in the United States. But as soon as Biden became president of the United States in January, he rescinded a Trump-era order banning tickets.

Overcoming the challenges, Tiktok has come up with new features to attract users. Just last week, Tiktok introduced a vanishing clip feature similar to Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. Users can add a tick-tipped story that disappears on its own in 24 hours.
