Rara, a beautiful and large lake in Mugu district of Nepal, has become deserted due to lack of tourists.

Due to the Corona epidemic, beautiful Rara has become deserted due to non-arrival of internal and external tourists. After the closure of roads and air services due to the lockdown by the Government of Nepal, Rara has become deserted except for cattle.

Hoteliers have been affected due to lack of tourists. "The hotel was brought into operation on loan. Corona and Lockdown have ruined the business. Sahu says bring it even though there is no interest. It has become very difficult for him to make ends meet," said Saila Rawal, the manager of New Mahadev Hotel.

He said that it was difficult for the locals who came to Rara to make a living by entertaining the tourists by riding horses and boats. 

In FY 2077/07, the number of domestic tourists visiting Rara was 10,370 and the number of domestic tourists was 19. But for the last three months, the number of internal and external tourists in the records of Rara National Park has been zero, according to the park.

Badri Binod Dahal, head of the Rara National Park's office, said that the target

was not enough to attract tourists to Rara and the revenue was very low.
